  • A stay at Amy and Bill's is a real treat. We took our three young kiddos for a weekend at the farm and could not be happier that we did. The house is gorgeous, has everything you could need in it and is also very cozy. There are sweet touches like legos and children's books for the little ones. The farm itself is picturesque- beautifully designed and constructed, happy, healthy animals, maple syrup in production, and lots of space to roam. Bill was beyond kind to let us come along with him each morning to tend to the horses, cows, goats, chickens and ducks! Our 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter were enamored with Bill and wanted to help out wherever they could. They were even able to collect fresh chicken's eggs for us! Amy had excellent advice on kid-friendly hikes, activities and restaurants. We loved exploring the surrounding area and only wish we had more time there. Our son made us promise that we'd return, so we hope to be back to experience the farm in another season!

  • Perfect. There is a reason they have such high ratings. A working farm they encourage you to explore. Cows, ducks, goats, horses, wild raspberries, and a huge garden. Amy and Bill could not be better hosts to us and our two boys (aged 10 and 11). They were warm, welcoming and available for any help/questions we had through the course of our stay. Stocked kitchen, plenty of linens and a fireplace stocked with all the wood one needs, help make this an ideal getaway house. We'll definitely be back.

  • This farm/home/yurt was more special than I could’ve planned. It was just supposed to be a spot I stopped in between locations, but it became a highlight of my trip! I only wish I could’ve stayed longer. The owners are very kind and accommodating. The yurt was clean and beautiful surrounded by a gorgeous opening on the edge of a wood. You feel close to the wild, but very protected. Somehow the comforter was so magically warm, but never hot. I was very comfortable, and the whole arrangement was peaceful and rejuvenating. The garden and the wildlife was made the whole experience enriching just by being on property. I was very pleased to learn of the natural approach they use in maintaining the property. It was so well kept, and they have a great understanding of how to work in harmony with nature. It was an absolute treasure. The squash I ate that I took home was incredible!! I baked it really simply and it did all the work, just wow. Best tasting tomato I think I’ve had in my life, the colors when I cut into it were stunning. It was an inspirational experience. Something I will continue to look back on with delight.

  • Amy and Bill’s have built and incredible farm in a beautiful setting. You can appreciate all the love and passion they put in to the place. The yurt is very charming and has all the accommodations you need so you can truly enjoy the experience. The bed is super comfortable and everything is really clean. They have a bbq and a fire pit with plenty of wood to enjoy the night. They have a compost toilet and an outdoor shower that is amazing! They gave us lots of tips around the area and answered all our questions right away. We even got to try some of their produce and it was so good that tomatoes will not be the same for us. We can’t wait to come back!

  • This was one of the most wonderful places I have ever stayed. The setting is bucolic, the accommodations spectacular, and the host are among the kindest people I have ever encountered. The house is immaculate and charming. The farm is so much fun to explore - and Bill is a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. Sitting out side on the porch in a rocker, reading a favorite book while the summer breeze swirls through the fragrant kaleidoscope of flowers in the front yard will fill you with a calm and peace like no other. The farm is also centrally located to many quaint CT towns. Five stars across the board!!

  • The too-brief August days my family spent at the guest house were just what our souls needed. We had the entire magazine-worthy guest house to ourselves, free to spend out time however we liked with the forest, bees, gardens, horses, cows, goats, chickens, ducks, and of course, Finn the fabulous farm dog. Being with our hosts in this magical place was like being invited into a living, breathing work of art. Amazing. Amy and Bill’s care for the earth, it’s creatures, their own souls, and others shines in every corner of this farm. They built it from the ground up with their own hands over the past ten years. The guest house was immaculately clean and luxuriously appointed. Fresh cut flowers awaited us on the sprawling porch and inside. Thoughtful books were waiting for us on our nightstands. Bill’s handiwork is in every nook and cranny of this gorgeous home.

  • Bill and Amy's farm is amazingly beautiful and peaceful. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and had the deepest sleep I've had in months in the yurt. The property is conveniently located near Lake Waramaug and the small towns of New Preston and Washington, so it was easy to get in my daily hikes and canoe/kayak rides, while also having easy access to coffee shops and cafes. Bill also took me on a tour of the farm, which was education and enjoyable. What they have done with the property, including conservation efforts and shifts to a more natural life, has left me inspired.

  • If you are lucky enough to stay in this charming country farm guest house, you are in for a treat. This private, lovely guest house has so many great touches and finishes. Well equipped for a comfortable stay and nearby to all you need -- market, restaurants, cute coffee places and only a short ride into Litchfield -- but this little spot is on a quiet beautiful "begging to be strolled" road. The porch offers a beautiful open to the day with a cup of coffee and a peaceful end of the day with a glass of wine. Cannot recommend it enough and look forward to staying there again. Gracious hosts.
